As usual ~ worked at clinic in the morning ~
but today was quite different
cause got a few incidents which made my heart go sour ):
1)
2 weeks ago, got this cleaner aunty who worked at the kopitiam nearby came to consult the doctor.
But during payment, she doesn't have sufficient money to pay the fees.
The amount she was holding to was also borrowed from her friend.
After seeing the total bill, she said
" 等我一下啊。我去跟我朋友借。"
my heart felt dam sour :\
Today I saw the aunty again while having lunch after my work
I went to ask her if her stomach is feeling better
& she replied:
"我好了. 谢谢你eh, 我真的很感动。没有人这样问过我。"
(I've recovered & thanks for your gesture. Nobody raise concerns about me before, i'm really touched)
woah, my heart instant !&@(*#^@!
& the moment I turn back, the tears playing merry go round at my eyes.
She's really a nice lady, I wish to help her.
Everybody understand the feeling of not having any concern from people.
& not all of us can withstand it.
She did. (RESPECT!!)
2)
An indian worker came to collect his X-Ray Results today.
What he need to do next is to have his X-Ray done at polyclinic and submit the results back to clinic.
he came yesterday, but both clinic & polyclinic were closed already
today he came & was hoping everything can be done.
but no..polyclinic weren't open on Sundays.
he stood there, for 15minutes, thinking what's the best solution now
His boss will be deducting 2 days pay if he MC tomorrow.
He keep requesting for private X-Ray but we told him it's really not worth.
But he insisted cause there's a private clinic at Tekka that do X-Rays ?
& open till 5pm on a Sunday (claimed by him)
in the end we gave him a referral letter to private clinic for it.
I really hope he manage to get the X-Ray done today.
He couldn't pronounce a lot of English words properly and the doctor had a hard time understanding
but lucky I communicated a lot of foreign workers before
so somehow I got the grip of it heh >:D
From the incident, I really can infer how much he is afraid of taking MC & losing his 2 days pay.
It shows how much certain employers are exploiting the expatriates.
They can be really hard to handle but nevertheless,
they are also human
There's reason for every actions behind
HEH. I didn't make this statement based on empty stand
I've managed them for months in the past so i'm fully aware of the implication they can draw.
BUT I DID IT ;D
3)
Quite confidential which I wouldn't be typing out here
but it just disgust me
of how a profession like saving people have changed together with globalisation.
